This site will help you get started with the planning part! All the forms save you time. There are also sample schedules ONLINE of schooling 2 kids. Even forms for keeping track of 2 kids at a time.

Science, History can be taught together, one class, and alternating the grade level (this year teach 3rd to both kids, next year teach 4th to both kids, next year 5th to both, etc.) alternating always gives the student what he would otherwise miss.

I taught K and 1st grades together in a christian school and it's easier than you would think. One grade does seatwork/homework, while the other is being taught (20 min segments). Teach any classes together that you can to save time.
