This sounds confusing, but only because it is. ;-/ We live in NY state & we really want our son to have a recognized diploma for tier one status. He actually does have tier one (just enlisted for March) because he will, after a semester at college, have the minimum 15 credits. But, we just discovered he cannot get the bonus we thought he was getting (for having a total of 22 credits), because those college credits are what is giving him the tier one status. The bonus would pay off the college debt he would incur. The recruiters here have not dealt with homeschoolers before, so they are wanting the public school to issue a diploma if we are to use the college credits to receive a bonus. By law, I only needed to report up through age 16, so obviously the school is not going to do this. Anyone had any experience in this? Thank you!
