For writing I would suggest Institute for Excellence in Writing. You could have them watch the Student Writing Intensive dvd together then edit the assignment for your 6th grader according to his ability.

Grammar: I like Shurley English. Perhaps you could shoot for the middle and teach the boys together. Since Shurley is spiral all the levels cover basically the same material for a good portion of the book.
Daily Grams would be great for your 3rd grader. It's the "homework" book for Easy Grammar. It has 4 or 5 items for the kids to cover in a day.
