We used EG 3/4 and LOVED it. It does not diagram sentences, at least not at lower levels. It is easy to teach and easy to understand. On the EG website are very short video clips of Dr. Phillips telling what and how she teaches. Her method is to teach one thing well, then add a new thing, all the while continuing to use what we've already learned. I would rec EG to anybody. Would also recommend Math-U-See; can tell you much more about that if you're interested.
