Hi all, I just wanted to pass on info about a post secondary school for Clock and/or Watch Repair. It is in Columbia, PA, Lancaster County. There is a 1 year clockmaker/repair program and a 1 yr watchmaker/repair program. Or a 2 yr combined watch/clock program. The watch program specializes in vintage watch repair. Admission requirments are a High School Diploma or GED. My son´s homeschool High School Diploma was accepted without question.

In my grandparents´ day, everything was repaired. Today we throw it out and replace it. Consequently no one has gone into this trade. The few remaining clock and watch repairmen are retirering or dying off. However, there are many collectors or even average people with clocks like "grandfather" clocks who need them serviced. They are unable to find qualified repair persons. So this field has great need for new blood. And in this economy, it´s great to find a field wide open and with many opportunities for employment.

So if you´re interested please look into it at the School of Horology, 514 Poplar St. Columbia, Pa. 17512. (717)684-8261. Their web address is: The next class begins June 20th.
