I graduated my 5th High Schooler last June. Her diploma is still on the computer...When she went to register for community college classes, they didn't ask even for her transcript! That's changed even since I sent the last one off. In California, I register as a private school, and issue their diplomas more as a keepsake and a closure to the 12 years of school they've done. Some feel it's important, others could care less. As for needing it to show someone, I have yet to have any of them asked.
