A few ideas...
Most textbooks in high school are going to have a lot of reading. What about -
- Apologia audio CD is only about $15 (not the textbook on CD)
- Spectrum Chemistry (by the Rainbow Science guy)
- A co-op teacher or a lab partner you host in your home
- Friendly Chemistry isn't as complete as the others, especially in the lab dept., but it really gets some concepts across well with visuals; it's more designed for co-ops but I was able to make it work for dd
- More of a discovery learning approach, like the early homeschoolers (and early educators in general) did, such as reading & notebooking (labs can be done separately, such as Experiences in Chemistry)
