One of my children did Geometry with the public schools this year and the other at home. The proofs were not so heavy in the public schools. I have a minor in math and remember doing proofs, but now, it is all a distant memory. I am having to reteach myself while teaching the geometry to my child. My point is, I got through 2 years of college calc (and diffEQ) without remembering how to do proofs, do I think they must not matter much. We are using Jacob's geometry and the heavy emphasis on proofs is driving me nuts.
