I used Latin Road with my kids, and it was VERY easy for me to use, even though I didn't know Latin. I think the key with teaching something you don't know is to use a homeschool curriculum - because it will assume you know nothing! I haven't looked at BJU, but I would be concerned that it wasn't as easy to use. By the way, the cost of Latin Road was well worth it - my kids got near perfect SAT scores, and my younger son went on to study Latin in college. From Latin Road, he tested into JUNIOR YEAR college Latin! I was shocked! (Especially since I didn't know enough Latin to even learn with him the last year of Latin Road!) I loved the program, and so did both of my sons.
