My dd did a mock life of a bill at a big event hosted by our state association, MACHE Day at the Capitol. It made so much more sense for her to physically see all the different steps from idea to actual law. She saw the roles of different people along the way. It also helped to see the debate portion within the different steps -- not debating at length, but enough to demonstrate that the road is not smooth.
