My daughter is also interested in taking a course like this. I did some checking and found what I believe is the same textbook our local H.S. uses for Child Development class. It is called "The Developing Child" published by Glencoe/McGraw-Hill. 7th printing/1997 printing. I found my copy on eBay for around $5 including shipping! I research what was available through various textbook publishers websites. We will use this text next year along with hands on (babysitting, etc.).
