Sharon really gave wonderful, wise advice. So great to have this resource!
In our case, our ds has learning challenges..He himself has always challenged us in the areas of discipline and education.
I have had to gradually shed my "concept" of what our homeschooling should look like. I found reading Barb Sheltons's "High School Formula" absolutely helpful...this came after years of reading "Wisdom's Way of Learning" by Marilyn Howshall.
"We" have designed our own High school after reading "Formula". The Ace Paces are working for Biology, where Apologia did not...we are working through Algebra slowly, and we too, are about a half year behind. For History, Government,Geography, and Literature, he is working online reading through "Ambleside online" .Fortunately he is a strong reader, but a very poor test taker....
I am convinced that college is not the end all for everyone. Our son, now 15+ has his sights on Law enforcement, if he is not accepted into Military service.
I am pleased that he has some goals for his life, even if these do not come to fruition.
But these boys all sound like they hatched into the same nest! :) God bless them, and God keep us :)
