In Reply to: Can anyone tell me if there's a big difference between TT7 and TT Pre-Algebra? posted by Momof7 on August 21, 2008 at 8:48 am:
My son has completed TT7 and is almost finished with the Pre-Alg. The TT7 was mostly review for him (which he needed due to minor learning disabilities). It thoroughly covered addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and percentages. The Pre-Alg introduced new material which will help him in Alg. Because of his disabilities he needs to go a bit slower than most kids. My older son did Alg without the Pre-Alg (that was back before there was a TT Pre-Alg) and really struggled, so I'd suggest not skipping Pre-Alg. I would suggest that if your son is really strong in math and proficient in the basics, try skipping the TT7. The first half of Pre-Alg is all review of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and percentages (all of which was covered in TT7). Lori
