He sounds like a serious kind of kid. I've just started Great Books Academy with my kids and LOVE it! The high school curriculum is quite challenging and very sound if your boy is interested in college. It's very different from most curricula in that kids don't do much memorizing, they have to think. There is an OPTIONAL online discussion/virtual seminar that kids can join in, but you can do the curriculum without it also.
