Sounds like he is already done with HS. I suggest sending him to the Community College for those last courses. Why spend the time/effort doing them twice? Our kids took the gov't class that is required at the CC they go to -not only did they earn HS credit but college credit as well. English-well that too is required, so since my older 2 had already done enough English by their junior year, having them take the required ones at the cc -again-killed 2 birds with one stone. My son is going to be 18 this June. He technically graduated by Dec. of this past year-even tho his announcements and party say this May with way more credits than your aver. public schooled kid. He already has 27 college credits toward his Associates Degree by having gone to the CC as a high school guest ( I believe most CCs promote this). He will take econ. for his degree. You do not necessarily need econ to graduate from high school...many never take it.
Since your son has a heart for missions, he can take a couple credits this fall, do a mission trip in the summer or gear his classes around the mission trips. Community college seems to be overlooked a lot when considering "going to college". I don't understand why (unless a scholarship is involved) one wouldn't want their kids to do a local comm. college first then transfer with an Ass. or transfer after taking the basics that will transfer to the college/univ. of their choice? It is cheaper, they are at home still, they can see if college is even right for them without the huge investment of money, time and a poss. a move too! Some may think they are college bound and then take courses only to find it isn't their "cup of tea."

So I am stepping off of my soap box here....and again, cannot stress the looking into taking a few courses at the comm. college to get those last credits you want him to have and earn credits toward a degree as well.

It is worth looking into.

Blessings,
Sheri
