| Subject: | Has anyone attended full-time vocational nursing school while homeschooling their child? |

Our 9th grade daughter is homeschooled. I, her mother, am competing with 110 other applicants for 30 slots in a local vocational nursing program which begins in July and ends next June (2009). An 11-month program with 500 hours of classes and 1000 hours of clinical training is what I attempting to get into. I've been told it will be like working full-time and some. I'm wondering if any of you have done something similar and if you'd share your pearls of wisdom learned from the experience.
God appears to be opening up a door for me to enter the program as, so far, I've done very well on the entrance exam. I'm now in what is called the Pre-Vocational Nursing class where further testing, interviewing, and assessing is done to determine if I'm a good match for the program. Acceptance into the program is dependent on how well I do in this 4-week class and if my background check proves I'm a good citizen.
I have no idea if homeschooling (our daughter takes many off-site classes through a local Christian college prep program, so I don't actually teach her anything) will suffer greatly if I'm in full-time school. I just know it will be very challenging, but have no idea how much.
Oh, you should know we have 3 children. The 2 boys are in public middle school and public elementary, and both are doing well overall.
Let me hear from you if you've done something similar. I could use your wise counsel.
Thanks.
