I've been using this with my 7th and 8th grade son and daughter this year. They really enjoy it, but I've had to not use all of the assignments as they are too difficult for them. The notes at the end of each chapter are very informative and entertaining -I think I'm getting more out of the program than they are! If your 11th graders has already been exposed to alot of literary concepts, he may find it not as challenging, though with the unit studies and writing assignments, he may. I don't know if that was very helpful, but know it really is a well designed curriculm.
