You may be on the wrong board for a even perspective of opinions on this matter. =) I think I'm safe in saying the majority of people here will agree that homeschooling is vastly superior to anything offered by a public school.
It is indeed a sad statement of our public school system in America, but our system is broken - thrashed to bits would be more appropriate actually.
Your daughter sounds very similar to my own daughter. She too decided that she could not stand the kids at her school, not to mention the poorly trained teachers. For each talented and caring teacher there seemed to be a dozen who I don not feel would be qualified to instruct a class in dog walking. And the children appear to be exactly as you described, seemingly there only looking to start trouble in one way or another with little or no focus on learning.
I personally felt proud that my daughter was willing to give up her day-to-day time with friends in order to homeschool and actually "learn something" - which she said was a rarity in public school. In my opinion, you should also be proud of the mature and responsible decision your daughter has made.
Best of luck to you and your daughter, God Bless you both.
