1995 and is in very good condition. It is complete. It was actually designed for the Home
_School mom (or a small Christian school). I used it constantly and had made notes in pencil
_that may be helpful. I did do some hi-lighting in "code", with the code explanation!
This book is basically a supplemental appendix for Basic Science and Biology, and I used it
_hand-in-hand with the lab work and activities in each chapter of the textbook.
It contains tables that chart out each "investigation" (lab) for each chapter with special
_instructions and explanations of what materials are needed and where to obtain some of them,
_or what substitutions can be made. It also explains each lab and how to carry out the
_experiments in detail. I found it to be invaluable (and sort of hate to get rid of it, but my
_children are now in college! It also has a table of the materials needed for each experiment,
_how much is needed, the approximate cost and any helpful comments._In the back of the
manual it has an alphabetized glossary of elements and chemicals and _defines them and tells
where to obtain or substitute many of them!
At the end is an appendix that gives illustrations on how to make a homemade electroscope,
_and also lab substitutes for scientific method, Charles Law, Boyle's Law, and Osmosis and
_diffusion.
Basically, it is a supplemental manual for the amateur mom!
