I just finished up my 20th year of schooling my children. Tell your husband to rest assured that only a few hours is normal for homeschoolers. They don't have to wait for an entire class to finish something to move on to the next, they don't have to do "busy" work while someone who is slower finishs up. There are no lines to wait in. We normally start school at 9:00 and can be done by noon or finish up easily in the afternoons. Their day did get longer when in high school as there was more reading to do. Also, if you "google" free curriculum, LOTS of resources come up, so cost doesn't always have to be a factor. Hope this helps. Kathy
