Son struggled through homeschool. For one year he quit all together and I sent him to work with his Dad. When he was 16 we moved to a town with a community college. He took the enterance test never having tested before and was admitted. He passed the classes he liked and forgot the others. He then decided to go into the air force. He had one of the highest scores on the asvab. They even checked it twice to see if it was right. He is thriving in the air force. My daughter was the one who failed algebra 1 three times. But at 15 started college with her brother. We tried the Clep thing too with poor results. All the things I thought they couldn't do. Writing. Math, ect. She aced in college. Her professor told her she was the most gifted writer he had ever seen. She aced college algebra. Now at 17 she is in her third year of college with straight A's. Double majoring in premed and English. If you would ask me I would say we are homeschool failures. Most projects we started never got finished. They struggled and complained and cried over assignments. I felt lost and alone most of the time, but somehow the Lord honored the sacrifice and as adults these kids are excelling. I have three more at home and lament the fact that they can't write, spell, do math ect. But we continue to struggle through. Trusting that the Lord will provide the increase. Thank you for your post it is nice to know I'm not the only one who struggled and doubted our efforts.
