I have been there. I KNEW beyond the shadow of a doubt I failed my children. They couldn't spell, I mean really couldn't spell. They could read sure but only one was reading big books and I wasn't entirely sure she was 'getting it.' We dropped science at the end because it was difficult. We did Algebra with one 4 years in a row!!! Come on! I was a failure and knew it. What had I done to my children!?! Then college time came. Really? Was I really going to try to do that? Let's CLEP all the courses like they do in that one book, that way we dont' have to face the college exams just the CLEPS. Well, guess what. One passed one test. The other failed 2 of them and then passed one. The child that passed one couldnt' pass another. Yep it was confirmed I FAILED!!!
But... Let's get to the rest of the story.
Ok, I finally faced it. All I just wrote I finally confessed to myself. Yes it was tough and I decided let's just go to college and see what had to be done and we would just pay for years to get it done. So off to the college. Tests! Yes lots of them. They took them. Forms! goodness all the forms you have to fill out. I made them do it. They struggled but completed them. Finally results - "Are you kidding me!?!" They BOTH qualified for honors courses. Yes you read that correctly - HONORS COURSES! To top that off one has a language impairment and yet qualifies for honors courses! A little help in math was needed but just one course below college algebra. The counselor told me that was better then half the kids from the other schools. WOW! God is so good all the time. What I thought was a stinky awful job, and it was, God used. They are fine.

Remember they will be fine. Yes you messed up because we are human and ALL make mistakes but they will be fine. You love your children and are doing your best our you wouldn't be here and concerned. God will use that and you will be fine.
