Hi Melanie.

I am a mother of four also and I have had to work either part-time or full-time for the last 2 years of homeschooling. My children were always public schooled and it was a challenge to bring them home. Transitioning was the hardest part. I strongly believe God laid it upon my heart to homeschool my children, because it had never crossed my mind before. I knew that if He wanted me too, he'd find a way to provide. I started to work part-time in the afternoons and evenings so I could have at least 4-5 hours a day with them. Later I found a job that was full-time but was in the evenings. It is definitely hard, but worth it. My hours are longer of course but they are actually learning and we love homeschooling. Depending on the age of your kids and the curriculum, they should be able to do most of the work themselves. I make sure they are close to being finished before I head off to work. We also school all year round and take several breaks in between. That way we don't have to rush on a timeline. Sometimes juggling the both can get too stressful. My employment is a temporary position so I do get breaks. If you can't switch your hours I would recommend finding someone to homeschool your children at your home or theirs. Paying someone to assist them would be less expensive than private school and a better option than public school. I hope this helps! Blessings!)
