I know the subject title is vague! So many homeschoolers ? what they should do & how. I am a 17 year veteran homeschooler...2 1/2 years ago my husband passed away suddenly & I was left with 7 daughters to continue caring for without my soul-mate! GOD has been so gracious to get me through but I have had sooooooo many trials. Three of the girls have had a tremendously hard time with his death...not that the others have not, they have just displayed their grief quite differently. One has been so rebellious, defiant & violent that I had to find a board school to send her to...it's been the best thing for her & she has progressed wonderfully & finding the healing she needs. The Lord provided the place for her for less than it would have cost to keep her here @ home with us. My 13 year old has developed a hatred for me...a rebellious attitude that has a 'you owe me anything I want attitude'. This is so far from what our family was like before his death. My oldest daughter is married with a family of her own that moved nearby to help me after his death. The second oldest has moved from place to place, guy to guy & won't hold down a job...constantly expecting people to 'understand her story' & help her with what ever she asks for. Now this leaves me with the 3 younger girls. All are very sensitive & loving...wanting Mommy to be OK & to help me any way they can. I did allow some of the 5 girls at home to go to public school last year, as I have to work part time to make ends meet....now I am faced with whether to continue trying to homeschool with these trying circumstances or to just put them all into the system. I wonder if others have been faced with the loss of spouse & homeschooling decisions of the sort.

I am looking for answers...
