Shannon-

I won't say I know exactly how you feel because everyone feels differently even if the situation is exactly the same. I have however, been in a situation similar to yours. When the depression hits on top of it all, everything feels hopeless, but it isn't. There is nothing wrong with creating your own curriculum. Lord knows that I have spent my fair share on curriculums and the one that worked best for us is my ecclectic made up one. I can only give you suggestions as to what I have found to work there is no garauntee, but worth a try. Use the computer a lot. There are many many educational games out there for free that your son would find enjoyable while learning at the same time. There are also website with free worksheets and if you can't afford a printer or the ink to print them (they are so expensive anymore) you can always hand write the info. down. I can give you tons of websites with free info. if you would like. As far as finances go, we are a one income family as well and that makes things very tight. The thing I found that works is cooking from scratch. It is not as labor intensive as it sounds and you get better results than from packaged foods. I use a couple of sites to get recipes from and I can give you those if you are interested as well. It is MUCH cheaper and you will find out you don't have to use as many ingredients as one might think. Keep your head up. Let me know if you are interested in any of the websites I would be more than willing to provide them.

P.S. You have not let your son down, you are a mom who is working very hard to make things work :o).
