Sorry to hear what your family is going through. The schools are struggling for funds and often take things too far in this way. Don't let them bully you into doing something that is not in your child's best interest. Call an attorney to get some advice. They will usually do a free consultation or at least talk to you on the phone.

We joined a homeschool charter school and they give us a budget to spend on supplies and classes. It is easier than having your own homeschool affidavit. They keep all the records and give you the opportunity to buy materials that you wouldn't if you had to spend your own money. Our kids were able to take dance, gymnastics, soccer, science, etc. They were with other kids that were homeschooled too. We never had a problem with "social things."

Hang in there. You know what is best for your child. She is lucky to have a mom that sees her needs and responds. I send you my best wishes.
