It is very difficult being a mom and especially one that homeschools. We feel so responsible for everything they do. Please know I have learned after raising and homeschooling 3 sons that every family out their is dysfunctional. Every family has problems in one fashion or another. Some are able to hide it better than others but there are struggles in there lives. I encourage you to step back and look at the whole picture. Thank God your son is able to express himself. I had one son that when he got older wished he had not been homeschooled. It was painful at the time to hear the things he was saying but through all of that we were able to work out our problems. We are very close and he went to college and became a police officer. I would encourage you to love your son right where he is at and listen and validate what he is saying. I think one of the greatest gift we can give our children is to love them unconditionally. Please do not be hard on yourself, you believed homeshooling was right and your sons journey is not done. You have no idea somewhere down the road how that will have played a part in his life. I have told my sons that I am not a perfect mother I have my struggles and until I go to Heaven I will have struggles. But one thing never changes and that is my love for them. The issue is not drugs their is something else going on and maybe he just needs to have someone listen to him. Someone sent this to me is said Live simply, love generously, care deeply, and speak kindly and leave the rest to God.
I will be praying for you and your family, Nothing is impossible with God. I have seen lives change with God's help.
Take care and remember nothing is to big for God to handle.
