I just read your email and can really relate. We also are from up North, Baltimore, Maryland. We relocated in November 2006. We now live in Newport, NC. We love it here but do miss our church family. We too thought that the best place to meet new friends would be in church. So far, I have met a couple of nice ladies by joining the choir. I also thought that the southern hospitality that we so frequently ran into during our vacations here in the past would be experienced on a daily basis. Not so. Not all of the people here are from the south. It is also true that there are some very tight families that are hard to penetrate. Most of the people here are very friendly. Keep on trying. We live in a very small town on the coast. There is not a lot of things to do so we really are depending on meeting some people that we can call friends. I am not going to give up and you should not also. If you please, tell me just where in NC are you? Maybe, you live on my street. Thanks. Marie
