I live in a similar town. The further south you go, the more churches are like social clubs and not necessarily feeding you in a spiritual sense.
I have lived here 10 years and finally found a home church where people seem real.
My husband and daughters still attend an organized church, but we are in agreement that we are feeding our faith in a way that benefits us.
