My son used saxon in 4th grade and we fought the entire year about math. This year we used Abeka because he was sure that he would like it better. He did not. A couple of weeks ago I was searching for curriculum and happened upon TT. I called him in to take a look at the sample lesson and he actually sat and did the entire lesson with me (at night, not a normal school time...) He said, "Now this is how to make math fun!" My daughter has used Saxon for the past two years without any problems whatsoever. We began with 8/7 in the 7th grade and she did Algebra 1/2 this year. I didn't even purchase the solutions manual, she didn't need it. I had planned on keeping with Saxon, but a few days ago she asked if she could switch to either TT or MUS for Algebra. We haven't had a chance to review both yet, so I don't know which way we will go.
