Here's what we've done this year (our K year) with our 5 year old ds: Saxon Math (1 - we skipped the kindergarten level) Phonics (he's a beginning reader now) Unit studies for scoial studies and science. For example, we did a unit on family trees and ancestry, and made a gorgeous family tree of our own. For science right now we are studying the solar system. I figure this is a good year for exposing him to various concepts, topics, etc., while trying to build a good foundation of reading, writing and math skills. Next year (first grade) we start in more seriously with a Well Trained Mind, so I really just wanted to give him a good basis for going that direction.
