We are in our second year with Trisms. Ds did DAW in ninth grade last year. Learning how to research took three or four weeks with me working right with him (which I loved. We had internet search competitions to see who could find info the fastest. lol) We enjoyed the various parts of history--the civilization questionnaires are good for an overview. OUr favorites are the art, music and architechture sections. We enjoyed the literature selections and assignments. Last year was our first year with IEW. Loved how the writing assignments were intergrated with the history material.
Ds is using EOC this year and still enjoying the process.
In fact, the process of learning how to research a subject is why I like Trisms so much. I feel that is the real lesson being taught--the history is just a fun addition. Hopefully, ds will be able to use these skills no matter what subject he wants to learn about.
There is a yahoo loop for Trisms users. The link is on the Trisms website.
In short, Trisms is one of the best curriculum choices our family has ever made.
Hope this helps!
DebMc
