What grade is your son? Check out the Apologia website. They have middle school series that are great, in addition to high school.The web site has sample pages to read. My children & I loved the astronomy and now have the Botany & Flying Reptiles. God's Design is also a good series(not as colorful). You can see sample pages of God's design on the web site Answers in Genesis. I purchased this also since I will be teaching a co-op class for 5th grade. How this helps!
