I've used SMARR in the past and found it to be a great program. Very thorough. The examining of the books is very intense and so is the writing portion. I'm not sure if the grammar would stand up on it's own. You might want to supplement with something like Easy Grammar etc. I can't speak for its compatability with IEW or its match with classical methods but you might find an answer on the Well trained minds site and board.
