I prepare meals for my mil, who is diabetic, my dh is borderline, and my dd has the opposite, hypoglycemic (spelling?). Basically they can eat anything just cut the salt and be more moderate with sugar intake. Keep in mind the reason most diabetics use too much sweetener is they can't taste sweet like non diabetics. That explains the little bit of tea w' his sugar water created when my dh makes iced tea. lol! Honey and corn syrup are also sweeteners, and the yellow packet one is made from natural sugar. Try fruit instead of pastries for dessert. Diet Rite is the best choice for soda if you have to have one at all.
