Hi Christina,
There's tons to do in Quebec! Especially if you come to Montreal...I came here for school in 91 and never left! There are tons of free things to do, like skating on top of a mountain (Beaver Lake), the Old Port with all the huge ships always has activities going... There are many homeschoolers to meet. Also, we have the Ecomuseum, the Biodome, Botanical Gardens....not free but won't break the bank either (for a family of four you'd be looking at about $20-30 for a full days' worth of stuff). There is almost always a festival or show going on. You could explore the underground city. You could walk down the main streets and people-watch (I never tire of this one). Many pools and community centres have free swim and skating. The Fine Arts Museum (La Musée des Beaux Arts)downtown has one free admission day per week. There is a library in almost every neighbourhood. Hope this gives you some ideas.
