I live in Myrtle Beach,SC. Our local high school just had a horrific experience. A student stabbed the school security officer, the officer shot the student. The student died. People are booing the officer because he shot a 16 year old. MY GRIPE : To begin with, shouldn't the officer protect himself? Aren't students "REMINDED" not to bring weapons to school? AND my biggest gripe....... Do schools not teach spelling, grammer, or English language any more?????? I was shocked when I read the posts from students about the stabbing/shooting. The posts were so hard to read. The spelling and grammer were really bad! Regardless of this texting day in time, I try to teach my son that he still needs to use correct spelling and grammer. AM I WRONG? Has English/Grammer/Spelling changed? Are these things not as important on standardized tests as they once were? Don't get me wrong, My heart goes out to the family of the 16 yr old student, as well as the officer. I am praying for these families. Events like this make me really happy & thankful to have "mine" at home! Please go to SCNOW.NOW to read story.
