and STILL are just now getting letters "thankyou for your resume" and even a job offer!

Dh started putting out resumes as soon as we got here. He's been at his job for only a month. It was very hard and very frustrating.

Prior to moving here, we were in VA, doing the same thing. Even with the local address, callbacks were LONG in coming! We got to VA the first of May and dh got a call for an interview just last month!!!!

I think it's just a difficult world all together right now!

As far as going ahead and purchasing a house - that's something only you can determine. But you should ask yourself what ya'll will be willing to do and sacrifice if he doesn't get a job, you have all these bills coming in, a mortgage payment and you get to the end of your savings. Will he work ANY job? more than one? will you work? do you own things you can liquidate if you have to in order to pay the bills?

It's easy to say, "we'll do whatever it takes" but when it comes down to applying for foodstamps and medicaid b/c you've come to the end of yourself - will you have too much pride to do it? Will you shovel burgers at mcd's, working opposite shifts from a dh who's stocking groceries all night? and what of the children - are they keeping up with school?

no - all of that didn't happen TO us. But we were on the edge of it. we are STILL playing 'catch up' and it's HARD when you start so far "behind". I did get a PT job, but that will be over in Nov. Dh painted houses and helped build a warehouse to be able to sustain life - and he's a video editor!

we did get a house before we had jobs, btw. now we're struggling to be able to keep it. The rent was probably a little higher than we should have gone, but we do feel we were led to THIS house, so here we are. :oD

I wish you the very best, I do. Just stop and consider what the cost COULD really be if you jump feet first into a new mortgage without the means to pay it, yet.
