I just rec'd the HSLDA's The Home School Court Report March/April 06 issue. An article pertaining to another issue (regarding GED's) stated that in 1998 an amendment to the Defense Reauthorization bill had removed the military's requirement that homeschool graduates obtain a GED in order to enlist in any branch of the armed forces. Now, homeschooled military recruits simply need to provide a homeschool diploma and transcript to their recruiter. Also, in another article, it mentions legislation for fair treatment of homeschooled military recruits that passed the senate in late 2005. I recommend that you check out the HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense Assoc.) website for more info or give them a call. Hope this helps!
