Hey, Darlene! Your post includes so much info that I had to cut-and-paste it and I'll reply in's so good to hear from you!

my son is 17 1/2 started working full time after christmas, he wanted to work and not go to cllege, even though he took a class at 16 and got a B. I am still hoping he changes his mind when he discovers you can earn more with a college degree. Seventeen and a half?? That's unbelievable. I'll bet he comes around - maybe just needs a bit of a break. Wow. :)

Husband and I are done officially, I'm sorry but am also glad because I know some of what you were going through. You tried - you'll always know that.

I am working on becoming a nurse, I have a few general courses and hopefully in August/06 or Jan. 07 I will be starting the RN program. I am still working at the asssisted living facilility. Good for you! I remember when you first started taking classes (don't I? - I think - it's been too long! Way to go - I'm proud of you.

My dad is 7 1/2 years after lung cancer diagnosis, where he was only expected to live a year. Wonderful. My dad was diagnosed last September and has been taking treatments. It's good to hear a success story!

Mom is taking care of him as he is going down hill, he has very low blood pressure, and his fingernails and toenails are not getting enough oxygen, but still wants to go away when I come over on Saturdays. Sometimes I think that the caregiver is in almost as bad of a shape as the patient. The patient usually gets meds and the caregiver needs some! Bless your mom's heart. My mom has a lot on her these days too. Is the low blood pressure the cause of your dad's fingernail and toenail problems? I hope he gets better. How old is he? My dad is 69.

I visit other days but he knows that is our run around days. I am still working 11PM to 7AM and really starting to get tired of it. I am thinking of looking for another job when dad does leave us, I would like to work days now. I don't blame you for wanting days. You've been on that shift for quite a while, haven't you? I am proud of you - you've done well taking care of yourself and your son and your parents. It is SO good to see you.
