Hi Gail! Congratulations!! My husband & I are foster parents and are in the process of adopting our third and forth! My advice to you: If you want a baby, let your agency know. We are with Salvation Army and from the start they knew that we wanted a baby. They might call us and ask if we would take older children - you can ALWAYS say no! It shouldn't effect your getting placements in the future (baby or not). We have had a few older children. It's up to YOU though, whether or not to take a child!! Wait for a baby if that's what you want. Keep reading for a little encouragement........ God has sooooo blessed us! Our first foster child was a 5 day old! He's now 3 1/2 and legally ours! Our daughter came to us at 9 months and is now almost 4. - she's official too! :) Our last two are half brothers - when they came, they were 5 weeks and 3 1/2. Now they are 2 1/2 and 6 and about 2 months from being legally ours too! Yes you read correctly - our children are: 2 1/2, 3 1/2, almost 4, and 6!!!! The awesome thing is that we've only been foster parents for 3 1/2 years and our quiver is filling up fast!!! After this these last adoptions are final we are going to quit fostering for about 3 years or so and then see... If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to e-mail me! I'll share whatever knowledge I've acquired throughout this whole process. Again, congratulations and God Bless! Kristi
