I also wanted to mention that our total process time for our adoptions was for children 1 &2 1 1/2 years from start of paperwork until the children came home and 6 months for our 3rd child. Also we also spent less on our international adoption than we would of ever spent on a US adoption and that is including travel and a 2 week stay in Haiti. I suppose one could also ask why one would feel they needed to adopt from the US? There are children all over the world starving both physically and emotionally. We have to pay attention to our concious and go where we each feel we are led. For some that may be here in the US. For some it may be India or Russia. Some families may feel that they are being led to adopt transracially and other not. Just a matter of what choice is best for your family:)
