I have been reading all the comments on Lipitor both here and on other sites. I really do not want to take any drugs, especially with something that can have so many negative side effects. I was diagnosed with high cholesterol about six months ago. My doctor let me try to reduce it on my own with diet and exercise. I dropped my cholesterol from 247 to 205. He let me continue for another 3 months but when I went back my cholesterol had gone up 5 points to 210. He then prescribed Lipitor, the lowest dosage. My side effcts so far are sore joints and irritability. I really believe in helping the body to correct problems, like high cholesterol, the natural way. After all the research I have been doing, I am going to tell my doctor I want to stop the drug. I may lose a doctor over this but it's my body. By the way, I'm 52 and only started to have high cholesterol when I went through menopause.
My question to anyone out there is: Has anyone come up with an alternative, healthy way to lower cholesterol besides artificial medication?
All anyone talks about is the negative side effects of medication but they never follow through with what they eventually did in place of the medication. Any help and info would be appreciated. Thank you all!
