Take some advice from Popeye - spinach is good for you. The Vegetarian Resource Group has a web page on calcium (see link below). This is a quote from it:
Oxalic acid, which is found in spinach, rhubarb, chard, and beet greens binds with the calcium in those foods and reduces its absorption. These foods should not be considered good sources of calcium. Calcium in other green vegetables, like kale, collard greens, Chinese mustard greens, and Chinese cabbage flower leaves is well absorbed.
This is not to say that spinich prevents calcium absorption from other vegetables, rather that it is not considered a good source of calcium by itself.So keep on with eating your spinach and get your calcium from the many other vegetarian sources available.
