2 tablespoons (32g) of natural peanut butter has over 16 grams of fat. That's 146 calories from fat out of 186 total calories, or 78% calories from fat.
Many popular brands also have other vegetable oils added, some hydrogenated (trans fat).
Although nutritious, peanut butter is not normally part of a prevention diet unless it is part of a total meal where the percent of calories from fat is less than 20%.
And unless one uses a no-salt peanut butter, there would be about 150 grams of sodium in those two tablespoons.
For those who crave the taste of peanut butter, artificial peanut butter flavor can be used in low fat cookies, smoothies and other dishes.
