Nutrasweet is a brand name for aspartame, an artificial sweetener with no calories. I can find no research that indicates that this product is harmful or beneficial to those with coronary artery disease or the reversal process.
A small percentage of people with a genetically linked disorder can suffer serious negative effects from this product, but most people seem to tolerate it without problems.
Aspartame has had a controversial history, with many complaints about it causing a number of negative side-effects. Most research has not supported those claims, yet complaints continue to be reported.
We neither recommend nor caution against this product. For those who can tolerate it and wish to limit sugar consumption, aspartame is an available alternative considered safe by the FDA.
