& "Lady Mcjacko"
jacko & Lady McJacko (a.k.a. Jeff & Sabrina Nelson)
became vegetarians six years ago after hearing John
Robbins on a local radio talkshow, and then reading his
book, Diet For A New America.
In September of 1995, Sabrina was
diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease for which there
is no known cure. On the advice of her doctor, a
world-renowned rheumatologist, she began eating a
completely vegan diet. Hers is another vegan-diet success
story; the disease is in total remission.
It's perhaps ironic that Jeff and his
family are such dedicated vegetarians, as Jeff is a
direct descendent of H.O. Armour, the founder of the
Armour Meat Packing Company. (Sabrina's not descended
from anyone famous.)
Jeff and Sabrina live in Los Angeles,
California, with their twin 3-year-old daughters, Nina
and Miranda, and their 8-month-old son, Will. All the
kids are happy, healthy little vegetarians -- the only
animals they eat are animal cookies.
When he's not burning up boards on the
Internet, Jeff is a TV writer/producer, and an author.
Sabrina is also a writer -- when she's not mashing
bananas for the 8-month-old, or stopping the twins from
coaxing the baby into the cat carrier.

"Kira"
Kira
Sampson grew up in southeast Texas, in a
small town near Houston. She and her husband met at March
Air Force Base in California, where they were both X-ray
technicians. Kira has also worked as a medical secretary
and Waldenbooks bookstore manager. She quit working
outside the home after the birth of her son, James, in
1987.
Kira is a writer and has published short
stories, articles, and poetry in small press magazines.
She currently edits two newsletters, one for her
homeschool group and one for a local writer's group. She
also works as a news monitor/editor for Broadcast News of
Mid-America, which provides video and transcripts of
local newscasts to clients. Everything is done over
computer, so Kira never has to leave her home -- a dream
job. Kira's husband works for the Oklahoma Department of
Environmental Quality and also serves in the Air Force
Reserves at Tinker Air Force Base.
Kira has been an on-again, off-again
vegetarian for more than 15 years. She originally was
attracted to vegetarianism for the health benefits, but
the more she learned, the more she came to appreciate the
ethical aspects of vegetarianism. After reading John
Robbins' books, Diet for a New America and May
All Be Fed, she has become convinced that
vegetarianism can be a major factor in healing our
environment as well.

"dj"
Doug King
(a.k.a. "dj") is our resident cybergeek, and
can hack into any computer in the world. Be careful if
you try to spam our boards, because dj can hunt you down,
capture you, and cause a meltdown in your CPU.
In addition to his super-cybergeek
powers, dj is an angel. We believe he was sent to us by a
higher power, because this board would not exist without
his expertise, and his generosity in sharing it.
It's not so far-fetched to believe that
dj might be an angel. Look at another site that he runs:
http://www.stmichael.org/
dj lives in
Northern California with his wife and two children, and
works for a major computer hardware manufacturer. You
can often find dj lurking around the Tech Support Board,
and sometimes crawling around the Pub.
