MFA asks 'Why love one but eat the other'

user-pic

Makes perfect sense to me. I've always had a dog or cat(s) and considered myself an animal lover - but not until I became a conscientious objector (vegan) did I really exercise loving animals. Now I drive by cows in a field and feel much better because I know I am not a threat to them.

Italian TV Host: Cat Stew is Delicious

Why not? Animals all deserve the same consideration. If we are cold and uncaring about cows or pigs, which are in many ways as intelligent as cats - why should the Italian viewers be shocked at eating one animal over another.
Until we can grasp this fundamental fact, we are all carrion-eating vultures.

I'll admit there have been times I've considered violence against my three cats (kidding!), but I'd never eat them. They on the other hand have threatened to eat me many times when I'm late with their dinner!

Going Veg Bad for the Planet? Quite the Reverse

user-pic

"How could this happen"? Simple: the mainstream media has sold out their readers for their high paying advertisers and corporate partners. Journalism has become a clatch of whores who sell their space to the highest bidder - news column inches as well as ad space. This is just another "Obama worship"-type event in which the media ignores facts in favor of hype by friends.

Ignore the press, ask the animals!

This is what Chicken McNuggets look like -- Seriously!

Doesn't it look like soft serve strawberry ice cream to anyone else? I agree the process (especially the ammonia bath) is disgusting, but the picture is not very effective for impact. Perhaps the bones being processed would drive home the unhealthy message better. My first thought - honestly - when I glanced at the picture was, "Oooo ice cream! rats! can't eat that, it's dairy!" I had to be directed back by a link from the title. *shrug* I absolutely agree that it's shameful to feed this to children - but the photo just doesn't rock me.
