I recently watched the movie "Forks Over Knives" and made the decision to convert to a plant-based only diet on the 1st of Oct. Mostly due to the fact that I have severe hypertension that can't be controlled with medication, and I'm 60 lbs overweight. After the first week I'd lost 5lbs and felt great, then on the 8th day I couldn't walk because I had a severe gout flare up in my knee. I did some research and it seems that all the great stuff I was eating was on the do not eat least, like spinach, asparagus, mushrooms, nuts or legume, anything made soy bean, whole wheat bread or pasta and so much more. I'm so confused and lost. I search for answers on the web, but can't find a vegan guide for persons suffering from gout. Can you please guide me in the right direction?
Confused and hungry!,
