Thanks for your comment. I can refer to you to many definitions of violence that show that most would not agree that I am proposing violence by suggesting laws. http://www.who.int/violenceprevention/approach/definition/en/index.html
All societies have laws for protecting people en masse - our own has laws protecting against intentional violence (murder, assault) and careless violence (traffic laws) - which presumably contravene the rights you believe individuals have (to harm people, torture animals, and ruin the environment). In our society, this has yet to negate argumentation (the fact that we are discussing this...?)
Whenever the view of the greater good changes, so therefore do the laws. How does it respect people to allow and encourage some of the people to lie to and harm the rest of the people (as our society does in the areas under question)?
It's rare that I get in an argument about veganism these days.
But when I do, I find that each vegan support - health, environment, and ethics - is debatable on its own.
If you're well educated in all three areas, you are on firm ground.
How sad we have "health" vegans and "ethics" vegans fighting each other. Truly, united we stand.
And in case you haven't seen, here is my review of The Starch Solution - with direct comparison to the 12 Day Program.

Hi Dixielou,
I'm happy to have received some feedback, but it seems you're reading a different article than I wrote.
There are many shades of political applications of economy. You're describing libertarian views (anti-government, anti-socialist) rather than pro-capitalist.
Your lifestyle is in a tiny minority, which you must know already. As an aspiring minimalist, I admire what you're describing. It is very hard to even mention breastfeeding trends in society without making some women angry because of their personal experiences.
That doesn't change the facts of how MOST (a word I used about 10 times in my article) live and what capitalism promotes.
And evil? Do you think cults are evil?
Thanks again for your response,
Jessica
